EPortfolio Final Project

EPortfolio Final Project

When I look back on my idea of what revision is over the course of the semester I notice a lot of changes. Going into college I always thought of revisions as little picture stuff. Going through sentence by sentence and making sure every period, comma, and word is integrated correctly. Often I found revision a tedious task that was boring. As I’ve gone through this writing course I have grown to understand that revisions is not the tiny stuff…

Ch. 12 Question Response

Ch. 12 Question Response

What reasons–evdience, data, or examples– do you offer to support your “I say”? Do your reasons actually support your position, or is there a mismatch between them? Could a naysayer use your reasons against you to support a contrary position, and if so, could you defend your reasoning by summarizing and answering this objection?  Throughout my first draft of my joy essay I believe I provide a lot of examples to support my “I say” of my thesis and writing….

DFW Reading Response

DFW Reading Response

Overall, this speech covered the topic of beliefs and how we choose to think throughout our daily lives.  David Foster starts his speech off with this illustration, “there are these two young fish swimming along and they happen to meet an older fish swimming the other way, who nods at them and says ‘morning, boys. Bloom’s Reading Response

Bloom’s Reading Response

Furthermore, Bloom goes on to talk about another flaw with empathy: rather than the spotlight, the fact that we don’t have enough empathy for others. First Writing Project Revision with Evidence

First Writing Project Revision with Evidence

When revisiting my early work in relation to Doyle and Konnikova, I can see drastic differences in not only my writing responses but also my reading and annotation skills as a whole. First, looking at my annotations from “The Hawk” by Brian Doyle, there isn’t much purpose to what I’m doing. It almost looks as if I’m just marking up the text to get something on it. There is no method or reasoning to the areas of annotation. This style…

Peer Review Reflection

Peer Review Reflection

Overall, my first experience with college peer review was unproblematic. I enjoyed receiving specific feedback on things I typically would not notice within my paper. Some overarching feedback I got through the peer review was to be specific overall when describing my examples. Leading into quotes and evidence as if the reader has no idea who or what I am talking about. Another area of feedback was to drive deeper into my past experiences in high school with annotation, previewing,…
